SUMMARY:Tell your MA Senators to make S.3143 a better bill!
DESCRIPTION:Debate on the Senate version of An Act to Save People Money\, Repair the Climate and Grow the Economy\, also known as S.3143 begins today\, and a vote will follow shortly after. \nBefore the environmental bill goes from the Senate to the Conference Committee\, we feel that including several proposed amendments would improve it. Our allies at Mass Power Forward and Massachusetts Climate Action Network have suggested amendments that should be supported and others that should be opposed. \nWe urge you to contact your state senator and ask them to co-sponsor and vote for the following amendments:  \n\n\n99 Embodied Carbon Reduction in large state construction \n\n\n25 Closes Loophole incentivizing polluting biomass for MLPs  \n\n\n26 Halting Gas Expansion \n\n\n37 Prohibition on Charging Ratepayers for Advertising \n\n\n62 & 162 Data Centers  \n\n\n1 Protection From Unreasonable Utility Profits \n\n\n78 Labor Peace for Thermal Energy Network \n\n\n106 Self-Attestation of Income \n\n\n77 End Gas Line Extension Subsidies \n\n\n82 Remove “renewable natural gas blending” \n\n\n25 Closes Loophole incentivizing polluting biomass for MLPs  \n\n\n99 Embodied Carbon Reduction in large state construction \n\n\n15 Allowing Massachusetts to restrict refrigerants that have high Global Warming Potential or are PFAS. \n\n\nPlease also ask your state senator to oppose the following amendments: \n\n\n17\, 121\, 171 and any other amendments that would cut Mass Save’s budget \n\n\n139 which would remove good sections around GSEP phase out \n\n\n114 which would take money away from crucial programs \n\n\n52 MLP Consent required \n\n\n23 and 67 which would remove municipalities’ ability to ban third suppliers  \n\n\nMassachusetts is a leader in climate and energy policy because its voters have demanded that we be. Please keep up the good work and contact your senator ASAP!
