JCAN-MA is honored to be a sponsor of the Boston screening of the multi-award winning documentary, Harm in the Water. This powerful film examines the devastating impact of industrial water pollution on Black communities along the Mississippi River. Through intimate portraits of community members, environmental activists and scientific experts, the film reveals how historical patterns of environmental hazards have created a modern crisis.

Director Kendall Moore takes viewers on a journey through the affected communities, highlighting both the struggles and resilience of residents fighting for clean water and environmental justice. The documentary combines compelling personal stories with rigorous scientific evidence to create an urgent call for change.

The screening will be followed by a talkback with director Kendall Moore.
Admission is FREE. Tickets are required. This event is open to the public.
Walk-up tickets will be available at the Modern Theatre box office on the day of the event, one hour before the event’s scheduled start time, subject to availability.
