We are honored to have John Walkey, the Director of Climate Justice and Waterfront Initiatives at Greenroots in Chelsea, join us on April 13 at 7 PM for a discussion about local environmental justice efforts. He’ll share his work with Greenroots and a coalition of organizations to establish a microgrid for the city–and residents–of Chelsea.

John is an East Boston resident who has been a committed advocate for environmental justice and immigrant rights in his neighborhood for the past twenty years. Starting in 2017, John has led GreenRoots’ work in East Boston and along the waterfront of the Chelsea Creek.

Please watch this video of John at our conference in June of 2025 for a primer on environmental justice.

This event is free.
